Content distribution of heavy metals in wormwood and soil of the Sughd region of the Republic of Tajikistan

Keywords: heave metals, Roentgen-fluorescent analysis, soil, plants, co-efficiency of biological absorption

Abstract

The absorption capacity of heavy metals inherent in bitter wormwood collected in some areas of the Sughd region of the Republic of Tajikistan was studied by X-ray fluorescence analysis. It has been established that bitter wormwood absorbs heavy metals differently depending on the type of element and the place of growth. The calculated coefficients of biological absorption of HM are given. For Zn, MnO, Ni, Pb, this coefficient is much greater than 1. Heavy metals, the content of which is higher in the soil, and heavy metals, the content of which is higher in wormwood, have been identified. Based on the data obtained, it can be concluded that it is possible to use wormwood as a phytoremediative plant for cleaning the soil from heavy metals polluting it.
