UTILIZATION OF WASTE GENERATED IN CHLOROMETHANE PRODUCTION
Abstract
The results are presented for studying waste treatment procedure involved in the process of manufacturing chloromethanes, i.e. purifying waste sulfuric acid, which is obtained at the stage of decomposition of waste oleum. A technology is proposed for processing waste sulfuric acid, which consists of two successive steps. The first step includes heat treatment of a mixture of waste sulfuric acid and waste oleum aiming at oxidizing undesirable organic impurities contained in the mixture, while the second step represents production of clarified regenerated sulfuric acid with a mass fraction of H2SO4 of at least 76%, which can be further utilized in a variety of industrial production processes.
