Abstract

The editorial article is dedicated to the memory of a prominent Soviet and Russian scientist, Professor Yuryi I. Skurlatov, whose entire scientific life was connected with the Semenov Institute of Chemical Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The path of life of the scientist and his basic research achievements are briefly outlined.
